5th annual Beer Sisters’ Charity Hopspiel set for March
Toronto – The Beer Sisters, Crystal and Tara Luxmore, have announced their 5th annual Charity Hopspiel is set for Wednesday March 8, 2017.
All money raised supports the Native Women’s Resource Centre of Toronto (NWRCT), a vital support centre for urban Aboriginal women and their children.
Defending champions, Danforth bar SAUCE and Big Rock Brewery will look to take down newcomers like Uxbridge’s Second Wedge Brewing and Toronto’s Common Good Beer Co., to take first and second place once again. And veteran teams like Great Lakes Brewing, Junction Craft and Steam Whistle are readying their brooms to bring the noise, according to the Beer Sisters.
The winner will take home the Hopspiel Barrel tap trophy to display at their brewery for the next year.
“The Native Women’s Resource Centre of Toronto is extremely grateful to be the beneficiary of the annual Hopspiel event,” says Executive Director Sarah Midanik. “The generous Hopspiel donation allows our Centre to cover the essential costs associated with our daily lunch program which feeds up to 70 urban Indigenous women each day. It is through community support and events like Hopspiel that NWRCT continues to be able to empower and build the collective capacity of Indigenous women and their families in the GTA.”
Spectators are welcome at the 2nd floor bar at The Royal Canadian Curling Club at 131 Broadview Avenue from 1-4pm Wednesday March 8, 2017.
