Amsterdam’s Framboise raspberry wheat makes return to LCBO

Framboise-2013Framboise, a 6.5% ABV Belgian-style wheat beer infused with Canadian raspberries, makes its seasonal reappearance from Toronto, ON’s Amsterdam Brewery the week of May 13, 2013.

Each 750 mL bottle of Framboise employs 2.2 lbs of raspberries producing a ruby red beer with excessive flavour of fruit. Framboise is Amsterdam’s most-awarded beer garnering six awards over the last three years.

“Framboise has a strong and loyal following which convinced us to bring it out of retirement”, says Jamie Mistry, Amsterdam’s Brewmaster. “What makes Framboise so special is the amount of work we have to put into this brew for it to turn out perfect. From the selection of the whole raspberries and how much to put into each brew, to deciding how long to keep the beer on the fruit is very important.”

Framboise is available in 750 mL ceramic swing-top bottles from the LCOB (#637769) and brewery for $11.95 each.
