Beau’s announces 5th annual Oktoberfest and commemorative 4-pack

beaus-oktoberfestBeau’s All Natural Brewing today announced it 5th annual Beau’s Oktoberfest running Friday, October 4 – Saturday, October 5 in Vankleek Hill, ON.

The festival has downsized from 3 days to 2, a move that Beau’s attributes to ‘quality over quantity’ with an expected increase in attendance and charitable fundraising. 12,000 visitors raised $65,000 for local charities last year; Beau’s has set the bar at $75,000 for 2013.

9 beers from Beau’s will be on hand in conjunction with an on-site homebrew competition, The Members of Barleyment. More than 20 restaurants will help cater the event, including Brothers Beer Bistro, Whalesbone Catering, Union 613, Two Six {Ate}, and Toronto’s Wvrst.

Musical performances include Walter Ostanek, Sloan, Kathleen Edwards, The Sadies, The Mahones, Young Rival, The Balconies, and Rich Aucoin.

A spouse-carrying race, sausage-eating contest, malt-sack races, beer keg toss, and the “Stein-Hold Struggle” are scheduled next to guided beer education on evaluation of beer styles and food pairing.

Beau’s in addition announced the pending release of a new Oktoberfest mixed 4-pack, available in select LCBOs in early September, featuring past Oktoberfest favourites Oktobock (a bock), Smokin’ Banana Peels Rauch Weissbier, Mr. Hyde (Roggenbier meets RyePA), and Two Weeks’ Notice German Porter.

Early bird tickets go live on Thursday, August 8 at $22 each or $38 for admission to both days. Beau’s will offer round trip shuttle buses to and from Ottawa, Montreal or Cornwall for an additional $15.
