Beau’s introduces Wag the Wolf weissbier

label-wag-the-wolfBeau’s All Natural Brewing of Vankleek Hill, ON has announced a new addition to its Wild Oats Series for the Spring season, Wag the Wolf, a German-style weissier launching Thursday, March 28.

Benefitting from late-addition hopping, Beau’s new wheat beer uses wheat in 65% of its grain bill, a German weissbier yeast, and New Zealand hops including Organic Motueka, Organic Pacific Gem while measuring in at 6% ABV and 20 IBUs.

Beau’s described the flavours and notes as, “banana, clove, papaya, mango and citrus on the nose, lively carbonation with pleasant maltiness, and a slightly dry finish.”

“This is a versatile, ‘shoulder-season’ kind of beer,” explains Beau’s brewmaster Matthew O’Hara. “Spring weather in Ontario can be pretty unpredictable, so we decided to brew a beer that that plays equally well with duck, sausages and spicy food as it does with summer salads and goat cheese.”

Wag the Wolf will be available on draught during April in bars across Ontario and also sold through Beau’s retail store and BYOB service in 600mL bottles for $7.85.
