Beer Academy announces new Beglian Tripel, aged 3 months

beer-academy-tripleToronto’s Beer Academy today announced its upcoming Belgian Tripel release – brewed with 2-row pale malt, Saaz and Tradition hops, Turbinado sugar, and a Belgian Ale yeast – settling at 9.3% ABV and 14 IBUs after three months cellaring.

“The beer is bright sunset with a gentle haze throughout. Although it may not look potent, big spice and apricot shows up easily on the nose, while the palate is filled with candied yams, yellow plums, honeycomb, slight alcohol and a distinctive Belgian spice sensation,” writes Beer Academy’s header brewer, Stephen Rich.

“The mouthfeel is full and wide showing complexity as the beer warms. 9.3% abv brings with it plenty of character and a full body, but ends with a welcoming sweet and clean finish,” adds Rich, who also suggests food pairings such as dried fruit, Margherita Pizza and pecan pie.

Belgian Tripel launches Thursday, November 7 during Beer Academy’s Pub Night available on draught and for sale in 625mL bottles for $6.50 each.
