Beer in Toronto parks? The Star thinks so

Via The Toronto Star:

When John Tory’s report on the future of Ontario Place was released a few weeks ago recommending that residential and commercial uses be part of the revitalized park, there was a cry across Toronto from some folks who want an undeveloped park. Trees, maybe some grass — hopefully a washroom — but that’s it.

But what do we want from our city parks? An urban park is not Algonquin Park: A city part has non-nature features, elements we want along with the trees and grass, places where people can buy ice cream and burgers and, in some places like High Park or Sunnyside, even a beer.
