Bidding opens for 80 additional grocery stores selling beer and cider

Toronto – The LCBO and Ontario Ministry of Finance today jointly announced the bidding for an additional 80 grocery stores to start selling beer and cider has started.

130 grocery stores are currently authorized to sell beer and cider. As many as 210 grocery stores are expected to be authorized before the end of June, 2017 with the potential of as many as 450 in the future.

A fairness commissioner has been brought on by the LCBO to provide oversight and advice to support integrity and fairness throughout the bidding process.
