Big Pants Brewery planting roots in Merrickvile
Merrickville, ON, situated on the Kingston-Ottawa Rideau Heritage Route, is next on the recipient list for a craft brewery, Big Pants Brewery.
The family-run brewery, still in launching stages, will be located on the edge of Merrickville, easily accessible from the village, many of the area’s trail systems, and the Rideua Canal System.
Big Pants Brewery indicates they will use hops cultivated on-site, honey harvested from their bees, and gardened raspberries and pumpkins in their products.
The brewery also highlighted environmental plans including reusing steam from brewing to heat the facility, using solar energy for water preheating, and spent grains will be composted for reintroduction to their hop garden.
