Big Rock & Lake of the Woods collaboration

Kenora + Toronto – Big Rock Brewery (Calgary) sent its new Toronto-based team to Lake of the Woods Brewing in Kenora this past December 2015 to collaborate on The Stranger – a beer inspired by the namesake character in movie The Big Lebowski.

“While Big Rock’s Ontario Brewmaster Connor Patrick waits (yes, the waiting sucks) for his brewing equipment to arrive at our new Etobicoke brewery, he’s finding other ways to brew tasty beer,” says the brewery.

The Stranger was brewed with additions of sarsaparilla, wintergreen, cherry bark, raisin, and vanilla with a grain bill consisting of Special B, Pale, Munich, C-40, Chocolate malt and Belgian candi sugar.

Big Rock is currently constructing a 41 hl production brewery in Etobicoke and a smaller brewpub in Toronto’s Liberty Village at 60 Atlantic Ave, just doors down from the also-under-construction location of The 3 Brewers at 99 Atlantic Ave.

They are slated for an early 2016 opening.

Look for the collaboration beer release at Lake of the Woods Brewing and select Toronto establishments soon.
