New Hamburg – Bitte Schön Brauhaus, an upcoming self-described boutique brewery, is slated to open Spring 2016 in New Hamburg – a small community of in rural Waterloo.

Located in The Imperial building at 68 Huron St, the brewery is a combined effort by local Marie Voisin and founders of Descendants Beer & Beverage Co., Robin Molloy and Lee Brooks, who are co-owners.

Descendants Beer is currently under construction at 319 Victoria St N in Kitchener scheduled for a Spring 2016 opening.

Bitte Schön’s focus will be on German-style beer, and intends to serve the New Hamburg, Baden, Wilmot County and surrounding areas.

The name – Bitte Schön – means “you’re welcome ” in German. “We wanted a name that reflects the town of New Hamburg. The slogan on the welcome sign as you drive into New Hamburg says “You’re Welcome”. We chose this name because it reflects both the modern town and the German heritage of the region,” explains the brewery.

Its onsite retail store will offer beer sales in both bottles and growlers.
