Collingwood – Black Bellows Brewing has launched with the introduction of its Belgian-style Wit to the Collingwood and GTA markets.

Scott Brown and Peter Braul, founders, say they are currently finalizing plans for a brewery location in Collingwood, while brewing their first offering on contract.

Black Bellows’ White Beer measures at 5% with 13 IBUs offering aromas of zest, fresh bread, herbal tea, clove spice and flavours of citrus, yeasty bread, flowers, clove, and tang according to the brewers.  It is currently available on draught at better beverage bars.

“Like with most witbiers, we use citrus and spices, but we’re using a unique blend and focus on sourcing on the freshest spices available, which makes a big difference. Our goal was to create a beer that, as complex as it is, doesn’t have any sharp edges, flavour wise – you can’t really pick out any of the specific spices, fruit or herbs,” says Braul.

An LCBO release is planned for later in 2016.
