Black Donnelly’s Brewing opening in West Perth in 2018
West Perth – Black Donnelly’s Brewing Co. has announced they are opening a brewery in West Perth in 2018, according to the Stratford Beacon Herald.
Neil and Angela Douglas, who have been brewing under contract for neraly three yeras, will begin building inside an existing facility at 2740 Perth Road 164.
“Black Donnelly’s takes its name from one of Canada’s most controversial families,” they explain. “With seven sons and fighting spirit, the Donnelly family was a force to be reckoned with. Those who crossed them came away bruised and beaten, if they were lucky. One cold winter night in 1880, their feud boiled over, and a vigilante gang massacred much of the Donnelly family. The violence was so great, people have continued telling the Black Donnelly story to this day.”
The West Perth brewery is expected to open during 2018.
In addition, the Douglases said they intend to build a brewpub in the nearby town of Lucan in the near future, stated the Stratford Beacon Herald.
