Bottle share gatherings gain momentum in Toronto and Ottawa
Ottawa Bottle Share today announced its first sharing event – Sunday, October 27 – modeling itself after the already established Toronto Bottle Share which launched in July.
The concept brings like-minded beer enthusiasts together to taste rare beers in a social setting. Attendees should come armed with bottles not found at LCBOs, The Beer Store, or brewers in the vicinity.
In August at Toronto Bottle Share’s second hosting, beers from “some exciting Canadian breweries (Garrison, Great Lakes, Lighthouse, Church Key) were poured alongside a who’s who of American breweries (The Alchemist, Three Floyds, The Bruery, New Glarus, Jolly Pumpkin and more!)”, write Mike Warner and Samuel Cerizza, founders of Toronto Bottle Share.
“Even better was bringing together a bunch of beer lovers, most of whom hadn’t met before, to talk and share beer”, they add.
Events are free, held in private residences and are usually limited to a small number of participants enabling ample sharing sizes.
Ottawa’s Bottle Share is backed by Ottawa Beer Events, a destination specializing in craft beer events throughout Ottawa, headed by locals Katy Watts and Sasha Dunfield.
