Carelton Place –  Braumeister Brewing Co. is now open at 19 Moore Street in the Town of Carelton Place, near Ottawa.

Founded by Rohit Gupta, with brewmaster Sheldon Scrivner, the Bavarian-inspired brewery features a 10bbl brewhouse, tap room, retail store, and patio.

“The idea for Braumeister Brewing Co. first emerged while enjoying a drink during December of 2013, in arguably the best beer garden in Austria: Augustiner Bräu. Our founder, Rohit, had moved to Austria three months earlier to teach high school science. He quickly developed an appreciation for all the region has to offer, including some of the best beer in the world,” the brewery writes.

Braumeister Brewing – meaning “brewmaster” in German – will offer on draught two flagship beers including a märzen and helles, along with seasonal releases Stag Head Altbier and Rheinwasser Kolsch-style Ale at launch. To-go cans will be available in early September.

Operating hours are Tues-Sun 2-9pm.
