Breakwall Taphouse & Brewery opening Fall 2017 in Port Colborne

Port Colborne Breakwall

Port Colborne – The Breakwall Taphouse & Brewery is now under construction at 46 Clarence St in the City of Port Colborne on Lake Erie in Niagara Region.

Founders and local business owners Fred and Monica Davies say the nearly 5,000 sq-ft brewpub will feature a 160-seat kitchen, outdoor patio, and retail store offering beer in bottles, cans and growlers.

“We wanted to be a true representation of our heritage and landed on that truly iconic Port Colborne historic site, the Gravelly Bay breakwall,” said the Davies. “That breakwall has protected our community and marine industry for over 180 years. What better way to honour our history than by putting it on a local beer bottle?”

The brewery will initially offer a golden ale, IPA, chocolate porter, imperial stout and English mild alongside food items including pizza, burgers, wings, and seasonal Lake Erie perch.

“For our grand opening, our Brewmaster plans to offer the community a Maple Lager, one of the last beers produced in Port Colborne 100 years ago at the Cronmiller & White Brewery,” said the owners.

Breakwall Taphouse & Brewery is targeted to open Fall 2017.
