Brock Street Brewing Co. looks to set up in old Whitby fire hall
Whitby, ON – Founders of new brewery upstart Brock Street Brewing Co. are looking to build their new facility within Whitby’s old fire hall on Brock St., according to DurhamRegion.com.
Partners Mark Woitzik, Victor Leone, left, and Scott Pepin, homebrewers, approached Whitby city council with a proposal and will now have their business plan reviewed.
The old firehall was constructed in 1964 and was vacated in 2004.
“We want to restore the interior of the fire hall to have an aspect that will dedicate to a bit of town history so past fires that have occurred, the big battles, famous things that have occurred in the town … a brewery isn’t just a brewery, it’s also a tourist attraction,” said Woitzik to DurhamRegion.com.
