Cartwright Springs Brewery opening soon west of Ottawa
Pakenham, ON – A new craft brewery – Cartwright Springs Brewery – is gearing up to open in Pakenham, part of Missippi Mills, west of Ottawa.
Founded by brewer André Rieux and business partner Eduardo Guerra, Cartwright Springs Brewery is currently under construction at 239 Deer Run Road.
“We found spring water and started making beer with it. Beer never tasted so good! So we decided to make enough to share,” say Rieux and Guerra. “The spring yields is over 3 litres per second!”
The brewery is named for the springs. “The Springs have been known to the locals for over a hundred years as “Cartwright’s Creek” and are the result of a vast hydrological action of this area. In the olden days the springs were recognized as having been a known source of clean water for travelers making their way to and from the Ottawa region,” the brewery adds.
At launch, Cartwright Springs plans to offer four core beers including an IPA, Kolsch, American Pale Ale, and Chiflado, an ale with hints of blackcurrant and nuttiness.
Opening is targeted before December.
