Centre for Craft Brewing Innovation opens this month at Durham College
Whitby – Durham College’s new Centre for Craft Brewing Innovation (CCBI) opens this March – the facility will offering services to brewers including quality control and micro-analysis, recipe development, training, yeast propagation, and more.
“When developing the brew lab, the college tapped into its strong academic programming and infrastructure. The lab includes a freezer, refrigerator, autoclave, centrifuge, stereo phase contrast microscope, PCR system, ultraviolet spectrophotometer, digital water bath, hemocytometer, aerobic incubator and peripherals,” says CCBI.
“The 50-litre pilot brew line, similar to a production brew line, includes a mini brewing kettle, mini lauter, heat exchanger, fermenters, wort chiller and low-pressure steam boiler,” they add.
A Grand Opening is being hosted Tuesday March 27, 2018 beginning at 4pm – those interested can RSVP with the CCBI here.
