Cowbell Brewing coming to Blyth in Spring 2017

Blyth – Cowbell Brewing Co. will open in Blyth – a small community in the municipality of North Huron – in 2017.

Founded by locals Steven, David and Grant Sparling, the brewery will host farmland growing grain and hops, event space, and boast many “smart” features including utilizing several forms of renewable energy, including solar, geo-thermal and steam recovery, while also recovering and recycling its greywater, according to North Huron.

The team has employed brewmaster Stephen Rich, previously of Sweetgrass Brewing and Toronto’s now defunct Beer Academy.

It’s first beer, currently being brewed on contract in Hamilton, is destined for LCBO stores this May – The Absent Landlord, named for Henry D. Blyth, is a Kölsch-style beer fermented warm, unfiltered, unpasteurized, and brewed with both new world and old world hops, according to Rich.

The brewery, located at London Rd and County Road 25, is targeting a Spring 2017 opening.
