Flying Monkeys takes 2013 IPA Cask Challenge crown

ipa-challenge-winnerThe final four from the 5th Annual Cask-Conditioned IPA Challenge, threw down for the crown At this past weekend’s 9th annual Cask Days at Evergreen Brick Works in Toronto five months after the semi-final round at barVolo in Toronto.

Emerging in the finals from 32 entries battling it out over three, blind-tasted rounds were Hopfenstark Brewery (QC), Left Field Brewery, House Ales & Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery.

House Ales’ Westside IPA faced off with Flying Monkeys’ Pink Dime IPA, while Left Field’s Resin Bag IPA went up against Hopfenstark’s Post Colonial IPA.

Flying Monkeys’ Pink Dime, a 5.8%, 60 IBU IPA, earned the top honor based on Cask Days attendee voting.
