Great Lakes announces Beard of Zeus barrel-aged Barley Wine
Etobicoke, ON – Great Lakes Brewery today announced its upcoming release and latest in its Tank Ten Series – Beard of Zeus Barrel-aged Barley Wine.
Measuring at 13% ABV with 28 IBUs, Beard of Zeus was matured for one year in Four Roses bourbon barrels.
“The beer is mahogany in colour with some ruby red hues shining through under the tan head. Aromas of dried fruits, plums and a touch of warming alcohol,” says Great Lakes. Flavours of dried fruit, cherry, plum with sweet malt, vanilla, and toffee are present in the flavour.
Beard of Zeus launches Thursday, January 16 through Great Lakes’ brewery retail store beginning at 5pm, followed closely by its release at LCBOs (#374710) across Ontario in 650mL bottles for $9.95 each. Only 1000 bottles will be available.
Great Lakes recommends cellaring this beer for one year and up to give years.
