Great Lakes to celebrate 30 years of brewing during 2017
Etobicoke – Great Lakes Brewery celebrates 30 years of craft brewing in Ontario during 2017.
Founded during 1987 in Brampton, the brewery was purchased in 1990 by Peter Bulut Sr. whom moved the brewery to its current Etobicoke location in 1991.
Peter Bulut Sr., the man who saved the original Great Lakes brewery and who turned it around to what it is today, passed away in 2010, but not before ensuring that the brewery would remain in the family. On any given day, you can walk into the offices at Great Lakes to find Bulut Jr. working on the equipment, on sales and marketing strategies, or on LCBO projects, according to an excerpt from the brewery.
“Great Lakes Brewery can’t confirm or deny that an abundance of one-offs and/or special releases will hit Ontario throughout 2017,” when asked. “I will likely face disciplinary action for revealing this much,” said an unnamed inside source.
Great Lakes Brewery currently employs approximately 30 employees. “One for each year,” exclaimed Troy Burtch, Marketing & Communications Manager.
