Griffin Gastropub launches new Maple Butter Tart Ale

Bracebridge, ON – Griffin Events Co., organizers of Session Toronto and Session Muskoka, today announced the launch of its Maple Butter Tart Ale in association with the Township of Midland.

The winner of Session Muskoka’s eleven competing Collaboration Nation North beers, the Maple Butter Tart Ale made its first post-event appearance today at the Midland Town Hall with Mayor Gord McKay.

Brewed by Sawdust City Brewmaster Sam Corbeil, Maple Butter Tart Ale measures at 5% ABV infused with extracts of butter rum extract, vanilla, maple, and caramel.

“We took that beer [Ol’ Woody Alt] and gave it a little bit more caramel base and a little bit more bready crustiness,” said Corbeil. “And then we added the flavours that you find reminiscent of butter tarts.”

Its launch is targeted for Friday December 4, 2015 at northern LCBO locations spanning from Barrie to North Bay, available in 473ml cans.

Midland is home to one of Ontario’s largest annual Butter Tart Festivals.
