Haliburton Highlands opens expanded brewery

haliburton-highlands-buildingHaliburton – Haliburton Highlands Brewing Co.  has announced the opening of a larger, redesigned brewing operation in its existing location.

The brewery, which launched on the 350 acre grounds of Abbey Gardens in 2014, notes its newly constructed 4500 sq-ft building allows for a 15 fold increase in brewing capacity. Green initiatives including a biomass boiler, high-efficiency lighting, waste water reduction and more have been implemented.

“It was always our intention to operate our business in a manner that would contribute to the economic development of our community and incorporate sustainable practices to minimize our environmental footprint. Our relationship with Abbey Gardens has enabled us to transform that aspiration into practice,” said Jewelle Schiedel-Webb, COO.

The expansion of Haliburton Highlands Brewing was supported in part by funding from the Haliburton County Development Corporation.

A grand opening will be held on Saturday October 22, 2016 in conjunction with Abbey Gardens’ Fall Festival.
