Junction Craft Brewing opens new Symes Rd brewery
Toronto – Junction Craft Brewing Co. officially opens the doors to its new home at 150 Symes Road – in Toronto’s historic Desctructor facility – on Saturday January 27, 2018 at 11am.
Built in 1934, the former art deco-esque incinerator houses a new 25 hectolitre brewhouse helmed by Junction Craft’s brewmaster, Doug Pengelly.
Junction Craft was originally founded in 2011 by Pengelly with Tom Paterson and David Hayes – their original physical space on Cawthra Avenue in Toronto opened in 2012.
The brewery’s new tap room will offer at least eleven options upon opening, with up to a dozen beers available in the retail store in bottles, cans, or growlers.
In addition, Junction Craft’s former Cawthra Ave space is currently being revamped by People’s Pint Brewing Co. for an early 2018 opening.
