Kanoo brewpub bistro to open in Peterborough
Peterborough – A combined brewery and bistro is currently under development in downtown Peterborough’s historic JJ Turner building, according to the Peterborough Examiner.
Called Kanoo, the new 400-seat brewpub – interconnected with the bistro – is named for the building’s original purpose as a canoe factory in the 1880s.
“The ambiance will be upscale. We want this to be the best restaurant in Ontario – that’s what we’re reaching for.” says founder Surin Toor to the paper.
A firm opening date was not given, but construction is under way at 140 King Street.
