Karate Garage Brewers to launch with 30-beer collaboration
Toronto – Karate Garage Brewers – a collaborative brewing team formed to support charities – will launch a 30-strong selection of wresting-themed beers for upcoming tap takeover Brewstle’mania.
Jeff Broeders, head brewer at Indie Alehouse in Toronto and Aaron Spinney, head brewer at upcoming MERIT Brewing in Hamilton, are the pair behind Karate Garage Brewers.
“We are inspired by our college days when we would freestyle homebrews together in our garage which we dubbed the Karate Garage, and invite all our friends for a party to drink them. We wanted to conjure those college vibes to create raw, unedited beers while having a total blast and making great friends along the way,” says Spinney.
“We are very passionate of what we do, but when we are together we like to take ourselves not too serious. KGB gives us an opportunity to take a step back and focus on being a little crazy and having fun with our friends while still doing what we love most… Brewing!” adds Broeders.
“Think Will Ferrell and John C Reilly of the movie Step Brothers (who coincidentally do “Karate in the Garage”) coming to your local craft brewery to collaborate on events and create exciting brews,” they describe.
Brewstle’mania – a 30+ tap takeover in collaboration with Craft Heads Brewing Co. in Windsor – is scheduled for Sunday April 2, 2017 during WWE’s Wrestlemania 33, hosted at Craft Heads.
A portion of proceeds will be donated to Make a Wish Foundation.
Dwayne ‘The Bock’ Johnson, Stone Kolsch Steve Austin, Jerry The King Lager, Yakimazuna – an IPA made with Yakima hops, Bock Lesner – a bock made with protein powder, Razor Ryemon Eh Chico – a rye beer aged on tequila soaked toothpicks are some of the releases included.
Tickets are available here for $20.
