Kichesippi Wuchak Black returns from hibernation in January

Billed as “Bitter, Strong and Black” by Ottawa’s Kichesippi Beer Co., the seasonal Wuchak Black, a Cascadian Dark Ale or Black IPA-style, returns in January 2013.

A wuchak is the term used by Algonquian Native Americans which morphed into the term used today for the woodchuck or groundhog. Ottawa is known for woodchucks popping up along the Queensway and Hunt Club Parkway.

Heavy on dark, roasted malts but offset by strong hoppiness, the Wuchak Black boasts an ABV of 6.4% and 76 IBUs. Look for it in growlers at the brewery and on draught at select locations around Ottawa in January.
