Lock Street Brewing targets May opening in Port Dalhousie

Port Dalhousie – The Lock Street Brewing Co. is currently under construction in St. Catharines’ small waterfront town of Port Dalhousie at 15 Lock St.

Founded by partners Wolfgang Guembel, Darryl Austin and Victor Tarnoy, the brewery is anticipating a May 2016 opening, according to the St. Catharines Standard.

Launch plans include a lager and wheat beer available in 650ml bottles and growlers from the brewery’s retail store.

“The renovated and repurposed Lion Tavern building, now called Wellington at Port, is a terrific example of what is needed to rejuvenate Port Dalhousie’s badly abused commercial core,” writes the St. Catharines Standard.

Lock Street Brewing specifically hopes to open Victoria Day weekend in May.
