MacLean’s Ales receives almost $500,000 in funding for new Hanover brewery

Hanover – Ontario’ Ministry of Agriculture and Food this week announced its Local Food Fund would provide MacLean’s Ales funding of $472,780 to build a new brewery in Hanover supporting eight jobs and increasing its production 10-fold over the next five years.

“MacLean’s Ales already sources ingredients from local producers, so it’s great to see them increase capacity and demand for Ontario craft beer by building a new, state-of-the-art facility,” said Jeff Leal, Minister of Rural Affairs. “When we support the good things that are grown in Ontario, we create jobs, strengthen rural communities and grow our economy.”

The Local Food Fund and new Local Food Act are part of the Ontario government’s broader local food strategy to promote the good things that are grown, harvested and processed across the province.
