McGuinty’s resignation stalls cross-province beer import bill

With yesterday’s resignation of Ontario’s Premiere, Dalton McGuinty, 132 bills were wipedoff the table, requiring each to be re-introduced into legislation when Queen’s Park resumes.

Affected by this was Bill 117, the Inter-Provincial Importation of Wine and Beer Act, 2012, aiming to amend Ontario’s Liquor Control Act to permit those 19+ years of age to import beer (or wine) into Ontario for personal consumption.

This bill was first introduced to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario on August 29, 2012 by Rob Milligan, MPP of  Northumberland–Quinte West.
