Niagara College hosts Project Brew Craft Beer Festival in April
Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON – Students of Niagara College’s Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management Class of 2015 will host Project Brew Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Niagara-on-the-Lake campus’ centre courtyard.
The event will showcase 22 unique student-produced beers alongside craft beer offerings from local breweries and local food vendors.
Student beers will be narrowed down to three judging as part of the TAPS Magazine’s Golden Boot Award – awarding the winning student a scholarship presented at the 2015 Canadian Brewing Awards gala in Niagara Falls on Saturday, June 6, 2015. The final three beers will be judged as part of the Canadian Brewing Awards’ BJCP judging in April in Toronto.
In 2014, Christine Nagy earned the $3,500 scholarship for her Fumé smoked saison.
Entry is $20 which includes a branded glass and 5 tokens – additional tokens are $2 each for a 4oz serving. Food is cash-only.
The festival has teamed with Niagara College Student Administrative Council to raise funds – donations of non-perishable food items can be redeemed for a beer token. All profits from the event will be donated.
