Nickel Brook introduces four new Funk Lab barrel-aged beers

Burlington – Nickel Brewing Brewing Co. said today a quadruplet of barrel-aged beers from its Burlington Funk Lab are on deck for a Summer 2017 release.

“With our brewers gaining more and more expertise with barrels every day, we’re finally ready to release some of our most complex barrel-aged beers yet. We’ll be dropping four new beers over five weeks, with very limited quantities available at our bottle shop. We’re also sending a few special kegs to a few special bars across the province. Here’s what we’ve got lined up for you lucky folks,” says Nickel Brook.

Proud As Funk Flanders Blend  – A combination of red and brown sour ales, aged for two years in oak barrels, blended, and then matured for an additional three months; Available June 17, 2017

With Glowing Hearts Cherry Golden Sour – A sour golden ale was aged for two years in oak, before spending four months on Montmorency cherries, then bottle conditioned for an additional two months. Brewed in honour of Canada’s 150th birthday; Available June 23, 2017.

Bastardized Apricot Summer Stout – Conditioned thee weeks on Apricot puree from Oregon; Available July 7, 2017.

Redshift Cherry Dark Sour – Named for a scientific phenomenon when light increases in wavelength and shifts to the red end of the spectrum; Available July 14, 2017

All four releases will be sold through Nickel Brook’s Burlington location.
