OCB Centre of Excellence 2013 winners announced
Culminating the 2013 Ontario Craft Brewers Conference on the evening of Thursday, October 18, winners for the Centre of Excellence 2013 were announced at the special dinner at the Amsterdam BrewHouse in Toronto.
“The Centre of Excellence Awards, also known as the “Industry Choice Awards”, are an opportunity for the craft brewing community – and its fans – to nominate and celebrate – the good work of their beer heroes,” said Bill Coleman, President of Cameron’s Brewing Co. and Master of Ceremonies for the day-long event.
The OCB’s Centre of Excellence awards recognized excellence among small to large organizations pushing crafting brewing at local to international levels. 65 nominees were put forth for 2013 from brewers, to brewery owners, production people, sales staff and certified beer experts.
The winners are listed below:
Product Quality & Process Innovation: Steam Whistle Brewing
Marketing Innovation: Toronto Festival of Beer
Education Leadership: Kevin Somerville, Oast House Brewers
Food and Beer Matching Development: Bill White, Better with Beer
Sustainability Accomplishments: Steam Whistle Brewing
Community Building: WinterBrewed, outdoor beer festival, Ottawa
