OCB reports on fourth annual Craft Beer Week sucess

ocb-week-270pxThe Ontario Craft Brewers today conveyed the success of their fourth annual Ontario Craft Beer Week, which ran June 16-23.

“This year’s Ontario Craft Beer Week was bigger and more successful than ever,” says Steve Abrams, co-founder of Mill Street Brewery and co-chair of Ontario Craft Beer Week 2013.”OCB member breweries went all out, organizing hundreds of events, hosting amazing tastings, beer dinners and musical performances. It was industry collaboration at its finest.”

Ontario Craft Beer Week ran in 40 communities across Ontario featuring over 200 tasting events and more than 200 food pairings.

The 8-day celebration culminated on Saturday, June 22 at SESSION Craft Beer Festival, hosting more than 2000 beer enthusiasts and beer from more than 35 Ontario brewers.

“Ontario Craft Beer Week rocked it,” says Cam Heaps, co-founder of Steam Whistle Brewing and co-chair of Ontario Craft Beer Week 2013. “Thanks so much to all of the people across Ontario who attended events, shared their passion for great beer, and supported our local industry. With the Ontario beer drinkers behind us, the craft beer industry has been able to grow and contribute significantly to both the provincial economy and also to this country’s global reputation as a superior beer producer.”

Ontario Craft Beer Week returns in 2014 on Father’s Day weekend.
