Old Flame Brewing Co. projects Q1 2014 launch in Port Perry

The Old Flame Brewing Co. is transforming a 130-year old heritage building, formerly an LCBO and Ontario Carriage Works, in Port Perry, ON into a new microbrewery.
Spearheaded by Jack Doak, 50, of Newmarket, ON, Old Flame Brewing has partnered with Niagara College Teaching Brewery to develop its three core brands.
“While involved in various fitness businesses for the past two decades, Mr. Doak kept an eye on the ever-evolving beer business and decided about 18 months ago to develop a concept to enter the alcohol industry. It was a natural fit, considering his passion for craft pints”, DurhamRegion.com writes of Doak.
The brewery will deploy a 15 hectolitre brewhouse for its target launch in February or March of 2014 with the intention to provide on-site tastings and tours.
Old Flame Brewing’s beer style lineup was not immediately disclosed, but Doak expresses, “Our beers are going to be enjoyed by all beer drinkers and well-accepted by the hop-heads. We’re going to be exporting the brand of Port Perry”, Doak tells DurhamRegion.com.
