Ontario craft beer sales up more than 27% over 2013 says LCBO

Toronto, ON – The LCBO today announced as part of their 12 Days of Gifting feature that sales of Ontario craft beer are up substantially compared to the same period in 2013.

Year-to-date sales of Ontario craft beer are $41.3 million, an increase of 27.2% over last year.

“This year we focused on bringing more imported, specialty and craft products to shelf because that’s what our customers are telling us they want for the holidays,” said Leanne Rhee, Category Manager for Beer & Cider.  “Many seasonal brews pair very well with holiday foods and we want to encourage customers to discover new beers.”

Ontario craft beer sections at all 645 LCBO stores have been topped-up with perennial favorites and new seasonal selections, says the LCBO.
