Ontario Pilsner wins World’s Top Pilsner at World Beer Awards
Thornbury Beverage Co.’s Pickup Truck Pilsner earned the WBA’s World’s Best Czech-style Pale Lager.
The competition took place in Norfolk, United Kingdom with over 1,500 entries from around the world.. The final round was held in London, where 50 international brewers, industry experts, and journalists tasted and voted on the World’s Best in each of the eight categories.
Thornbury, previously known as King Brewery, was purchased by Colio Estate Winery in February 2016. It’s Pickup Truck Pilsner is the same recipe as the former King Pilsner.
Other Canadian winners included Unibroue Trois Pistoles, Les Trois Mousquetaires Série Signature Sticke Alt, Red Truck Ale, Unibroue La Fin Du Monde, La Voie Maltee La Faisant-Malt, Bilboquet La Corriveau, and La Voie Maltee La Criminelle.
