People’s Pint opening Toronto brewery this Fall

Toronto – People’s Pint Brewing Co. has announced it will open this Fall 2017 at 90 Cawthra Ave in the Junction in Toronto, following the move of Junction Craft Brewing to its new, expanded location.

Doug Appeldoorn and Peter Caira, Founders

Founders Peter Caira, award-winning homebrewer and Doug Appeldoorn, Prud’Homme Master Beer Sommelier and beer educator, intend to continue to invite homebrewers and other professionals to brew unique small batch beers which will be available on a permanent rotating guest tap in the brewery.

The brewery is an evolution of the People’s Pint Brewing Collective, which launched in April 2015 organizing large events showcasing homebrewer talent. Originally, the group planned to install a brewing system at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto.

Appeldoorn says “We want to spotlight both established and up and coming talented brewers from around the city. We will be an open and welcoming space for the Greater Toronto Area homebrew community. Having so many other brewers with unique ideas will allow us to push the brewing envelope and experiment with many different styles and ingredients.”

In addition, Peole’s Pint plans to construct a quality assurance lab available to other Ontario breweries and homebrewers. “Learn How to Brew” sessions and beer tasting classes will also be held regularly and open to anyone wanting to further their beer knowledge.

People’s Pint begins transitioning to 90 Cawthra on October 1, 2017, with a targeted opening of its tap room and bottle shop slated for Fall 2017.
