Publican House Stoney Lake Craft Ale awarded Label of the Year

Kingston, ON – The Collectors of Canadian Brewery Advertising, Canada’s national organization for collectors of brewery memorabilia, yesterday announced Stoney Lake Craft Ale, brewed by The Publican House Brewery in Peterborough, ON, as winner of the 2013 “Label of the Year” award.

The announcement was made at the Kingston Brewing Co. in Kingston, Ontario, during the 35th annual Collectors of Canadian Brewery Advertising convention.

The award recognizes achievement in beer label design.

Presented yearly since 1983, the “Label of the Year” award is chosen by Collectors of Canadian Brewery Advertising members across Canada and the United States.

On-hand to accept the award were Karl Kustor and Craig Phillips of The Stoney Lake Market, Lakefield, Ontario, creators of the Stoney Lake Craft Ale brand. Messrs. Kustor and Phillips were presented with a handsome wooden plaque.

Known for its stately summer homes and vacation properties, Stoney Lake forms the eastern edge of Ontario’s Kawartha Lakes region. The bold Stoney Lake Craft Ale label celebrates the steamboats that traversed Stoney Lake from the late-nineteenth century to the 1940s.
