Railway City announces Platform 13 home brew competition winner
Railway City Brewing Co. of St. Thomas, ON announced an IPA took the top spot in their Platform 13 home brew competition, coinciding with the third annual IPA Day.
Last year’s winning beer for Platform 12 featured locally grown beets and honey. Platform winners receive a cash prize and the opportunity to brew a full sized batch of their winning beer at Railway City for retail sale and distribution at local establishments.
The judging panel this year was comprised of brewers, homebrew store owners, and qualified beer judges.
The winning beer, an IPA, was produced by St. Thomas resident, Ryan Harrison.
“The IPA was chosen for its overall flavour balance and enjoyability”, said Railway City.
A vanilla stout and a mango saison rounded up second and third places.
