Railways City’s seasonal Double Dead Elephant Imperial IPA gets strength boost
Railway City Brewing Co. of St. Thomas, ON today announced its seasonal Imperial IPA, Double Dead Elephant, will be available this Thursday, September 19. This year’s iteration is up to 7.5% ABV from 6.5% and a slight increase in IBUs to 90.
“We will be releasing our delicious Double Dead Elephant featuring locally grown hops from the Vandelsyke Farm near Vienna, Elgin County, about 15 minutes to the east of the brewery”, writes Railway City.
Along with its counterpart, Dead Elephant IPA, they beers pay tribute to Jumbo the Elephant, who was killed by a freight train on September 15, 1885 in St. Thomas.
For $5.00, the evening launch party includes Double Dead Elephant samples and a peak at more, unnamed beers from Railway City.
