Below are twenty fun facts about Ontario’s brewing industry, current as of publishing date:

  1. There are 187 operating independent breweries in Ontario.
  2. 31 breweries have opened so far in 2016.
  3. You can purchase beer to-go at 157 different breweries.
  4. 105 breweries offer growler sales.
  5. 165 breweries have a tap room or tasting bar.
  6. You can purchase beer from 91 different Ontario brewers at the LCBO.
  7. 13 new contract brewers started up in 2016.
  8. 64 breweries offer food.
  9. There are 96 breweries in-planning (that we know about).
  10. You can purchase beer from 55 different Ontario brewers at The Beer Store.
  11. Brad Clifford is still the nicest guy in beer.
  12. About 70 breweries offer guided tours.
  13. Ontario now has 2 new breweries dedicated to making other people’s beer – Common Good Beer Co. and Brunswick Bierworks.
