Ridgeway nanobrewery Brimstone Brewing now open

brimstone2Ridgeway, ON nanobrewery, Brimstone Brewing Co., has announced it will formally launch this weekend, July 6-7, at the Ridgeway Summer Festival.

Brainchild of Rob Diagle, a homebrewer educated at Chicago’s Siebel Institute of Technology, and Jason Pizzicarola, local architect, Brimstone will produce on a 0.58 hectolitre system at the Sanctuary Centre of the Arts. Annual output is estimated between 50-400 hectolitres.

brimstone-glassBrimstone launches with two brands – Field Dummer’s Ration, a historic-style ale; and Point Abino Pale, a hop-forward, copper-hued ale that the brewery says boasts hints of apple and sherry.

In February, Diagle and Pizzicarola pitched their nanobrewery model to producers of the CBC’s reality TV show, Dragon’s Den.

Brimstone will sell beer through an attached retail front, in 1l stubby bottles. There are no immediate plans to distribute through the LCBO.
