Side Launch Brewing Company to bring craft beer to Collingwood

A craft brewery is slated to launch in the Town of Collingwood by 2014.

As Ontario’s burgeoning beer scene continues to expand at record pace, Side Launch Brewing Company is seeking a zoning amendment  at 200 Mountain Road,  the south side of Mountain Road just east of the 10th Line.

The proposed brewery may initially consist of 50 hL (hectolitre) brewhouse, with a maximum annual capacity of 70,000 hL. Their system could turn out up to 6 different brews per day.

Phase 1 is planned to host a tasting bar and retail store upon launch, while Phase 2 would add an event room, upon the 15 acres of land.

Garnet Pratt Siddall, President of Side Launch Brewing Company, says their goal is to begin construction a year from now and open in the spring or earlier, and plan to hire 15 to 20 workers initially.
