Smithworks Brewing opens in former Kawarth Lakes brewery in Peterborough
Peterborough, ON – Smithworks Brewing Co., a new family-owned brewery, is now open in the former Kawartha Lakes Brewery at 6-687 Rye St. in Peterborough.
The brewery hosts a tasting room with retail store run, headed by Smith family memebers, Kelly, Randy and brewmaster, Graham.
“Our inaugural beer is Hefeweizen, an unfiltered natural wheat beer. This is a rich bubbly thirst quencher. The aromas and flavours are bready, spicy and fruity,” says Smithworks Brewing.”
Smithworks’ Hefeweizen is available at the brewery in 500mL bottles for $3.25 each, or by the glass at its tasting room.
In 2003, Amsterdam Brewing Co. purchased the Kawartha Lakes Brewery brand.
