Split Rail Brewing opens on Manitoulin Island
Manitoulin Island, ON – Split Rail Brewing Co. has announced it has launched in northern Ontario after five years in planning by friends Andrea Smith and Eleanor Charlton.
Stationed in Gore Bay, the brewery has available both a copper lager and hawberry ale, which incorporates the island’s signature berry. Both recipes were designed by brewmaster Glenn Fobes.
“Thanks to Manitoulin Transport’s support, the Split Rail team has renovated the facility to suit on-site brewing, and include a retail store,” says Split Rail. “The store’s tasting bar features artwork by world-renowned artist, Michael Belmore, and creatively acknowledges the company’s KickStarter funders and many supporters.”
A full public launch party is slated for July 2015.
