The Covered Bridge Brewing Co. eyes Spring opening in Stittsville

The Covered Bridge Brewing Co. is planning a Spring 2013 opening at their Stittsville, ON location, a community in western Ottawa. Previous reports indicated plans to plant roots in Carleton Place, ON, but lease negotiations did not plan out.

The Iber Road brewery hopes to launch with five flagship beers including a sweet stout with hints of chocolate and coffee called the “Covered Bridge Double-Double”, an APA called “Eternally Hoptimistic”, a blonde ale called “The Dirty Blonde”, an amber ale called “The Amber Rose” and a brown ale called the “MSB”. Plans for seasonal beers are also in the works.

“We will have retail sales of growlers at the brewery and we’ll be trying to get our kegs into some of the local bars and restaurants”, said owner John VanDyk.

The launch is being targeted for May or June.
