The Exchange Brewery plans Queen St. brewery in Niagara-on-the-Lake
Niagara-on-the-Lake’s town planning committee has approved plans to add a new brewery as a possible use at 7 Queen St.
The Exchange Brewery, spearheaded by local homebrewer Robin Ridesic, could launch before 2015 if NOTL council officially approves her rezoning plans this Monday, July 29.
The proposed location, adjacent to NOTL’s historic Niagara Apothecary, is currently leased until 2015.
Despite Ridesic’s homebrewing experience, she plans to hire a professional brewer down the road, indicates the Niagara Advance.
The name, The Exhance Brewery, is a tribute to the building’s history – once a telephone exchange during the early 1900s.
The Queen St. location is approximately 4km from Niagara Oast House Brewers and 8km from Silversmith Brewing Co, both currently operating breweries in NOTL.
