Together We’re Bitter Cooperative Brewpub planned for Kitchener-Waterloo
Kitchener-Waterloo, ON – Ontario’s first co-operatively owned brewpub – Together We’re Bitter Brewing Cooperative (TWB) – is coming to Kitchener-Waterloo.
Traditionally a cooperative is an organization owned by its members who use its services or are employed there.
A team of seven worker-owners are currently working on launching the brewpub, planning to offer craft beer paired with locally-sourced gastropub-style food.
“The craft beer and local food movements – two of our passions – are centered on building a prosperous community. So we thought it would be bitter…er, better if we used a business model that complements those values,” writes TWB.
“That’s why we’re opening Ontario’s first co-operative brewpub. This allows us to channel the creativity of our community into crafting something truly unique and in the process create good jobs, support local food producers, and make Kitchener-Waterloo a more vibrant place.”
Its in-house brewed craft beer lineup is already nine-strong listing varieties from a Robust Porter to an American-style IPA and Trappist-style Patersbier. Two cask ale selections, seasonals, and its own craft soda are also on tap.
Sausages, wood fired pizza, burgers, salads, mac ‘n cheese, and a brown ale pie are among TWB’s food offerings.
No official launch date or location was immediately available – TWB is currently hosting Investor Meet and Greets.
